Frequently Asked Questions

How much will rehab cost?

Privately funding your rehab programme in North Yorkshire will mean that there will probably be little waiting list prior to your assessment and admission. However you may be eligible for NHS funding, please contact your GP about referring you to a local drug and alcohol team. From there you will have access to a community programme and residential rehab. Please be aware though that there will usually be a waiting list for NHS funded places in rehab.

When will I see the doctor?

You will see a Consultant on the day of your admission. You will receive a comprehensive medical assessment prior to starting your tailored detox.

What about detox?

We know that once you are physically dependent on drugs or alcohol detox can be really difficult.?? Horrible physical symptoms are usually accompanied by an intense preoccupation with getting and using your drug or drink of choice. Attempting to stop abruptly, and without medication, can be both dangerous and very uncomfortable. For these reasons you will be assessed by a doctor on admission to our clinics in North Yorkshire who will prescribe you medical detox. There will always be staff on hand to support you, 24 hours a day.

What should I bring?

Please bring some comfortable clothes, nightwear, clothes suitable for fitness sessions, new and unopened toiletries and a small amount of money. Please do not bring, phones, tablets and laptops ??? these only provide a distraction from the important recovery process.

Can my family come to see me?

Yes, visitors are welcome during set times, usually at the weekend. We discourage visitors during the initial detox period to allow you to settle and to start using the community in rehab as your support network.

Are all the staff fully qualified?

All rehab staff are qualified for their roles. In addition to this, all staff undergo regular training updates to stay up to date with cutting-edge thinking and practice.

What happens when I leave?

You will leave rehab with a full relapse prevention plan. We will contact your G.P where appropriate to ensure ongoing care should you need it. We provide ongoing aftercare groups which prove particularly useful in the first months after leaving treatment. We also suggest that you get in contact with the North Yorkshire Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous fellowships, you will receive more information about this whilst in treatment. You can find lists of meetings near to you on the A.A and N.A UK websites.
