Crack Cocaine Use in London
There has been a rising incidence of crack cocaine use in the UK. Being deemed the fashionable drug of choice the number of people with cocaine addiction has risen sharply. According to a Telegraph report the largest section of cocaine users in the UK are women.
A recent study by the European Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction found that the UK has a higher level of drug abuse than any other European country. It also found that the UK ranked number one in cocaine use, with usage rates being three times that of Holland and four times that of Germany. Overall, cocaine use in the United Kingdom is almost twice that of the European average.
Professor Les Iverson, Chairman of the Advisory Council on the Misuse of Drugs warns that a lot of the cocaine sold in the United Kingdom is of a low purity. This means it has been mixed with other substances. He says it is for this reason that users should beware and “counteract the increasingly common misapprehension that cocaine is a relatively safe drug.”
The use of cocaine in any form provides a user with an immediate high, a keen sense of alertness, elevated energy and a heightened sense of authority. Cocaine addiction is not a physical condition, rather is it a mental one. Receiving cocaine treatment through a professional facility is the best chance an addict has at successful recovery.helloCrack Cocaine Use in London
